A Guest Lecture by Mr. Chandra Mohan Gupta, Director of Corporate Affairs, Cocacola.
He
began his session by saying, “We do things for a certain purpose.
To
my surprise before he could go further, he gave some of the reasons for why we
must listen to him. This was something which I experienced rarely. He stated,
“I have 22 work experience and it has been 16 years with Cocacola.”
After
finishing his introduction, he proceeded further for sharing more lessons.
The
main agenda of his discussion was: “How to leverage your internship to face
rapid changes?”
“You
are in a secured environment. If you make mistakes, there are no consequences
but there will be, in future. You must not just focus on theory only nor you
should focus on reality only, rather there must be a mixture of both.
University is the best place to learn it”, he added.
He
showed us a video to make us realize that ‘Stuff Happens’ to make us realize
that “World is not perfect.”
“Keep
in your mind why are you doing an Internship”, he suggested.
He
talked about Dark Challenges such as: Aging population, shifting economic
corner of gravity, wellbeing, growing urban class. He also talked about
Economic centers.
He
also made us realize how lucky we are to study in life.
“Time
has changed. There was a time when I used to call my parents only for 30
seconds as the call costs were as high as Rs. 32 per minute at peak times and
Rs. 8-16 at non-peak hours.
One
element of behavior: As we progress, there is a consumption of materials. Now a
days, we prefer to choose Air conditioned Halls over the hall with just normal
consumption of videos.
Be
Mindful.
He
later talked about disruptive mind frame.
For
instance, Cocacola was sold as a tonic at pharmacy which initially offered 16
offering every day, 1986 where it now offers around 200 cores”
He
was running out of time so he couldn’t show the videos of Packaging, Sharing,
Sustainability, Ecosystem, and Innovation.
“Being
open to see mistakes as an opportunities.
Connect.
Learn. Share”, Faisal.
He
ended up his lecture by talking about the social media mobility.
I
hope you learned something from his speech.
Thanks
& Regards,
Rohit
Sood.
