Yesterday, on the occasion of Dussehra Festival in India, I decided to take a break from social media networking sites such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Lettrs, Mirakee, TheProse, etc. and in fact, WhatsApp also.
The Idea was emerged when I realized that Social Media was meant to keep us connected by going beyond the geographical Barriers but it ended up bringing us so close yet so far. The connection, respect, relationships and even love are being measured with the amount of time, you chat with them. It hurts to see people chatting with their buddies overseas by ignoring the presence of their family members.
In contrast, there are some people who still prefer to keep their online presence limited yet they remain connected with their loved ones. In order to experience such a thought process, I decided to take this decision.
Finally, Today was the first day when I did not check any of my social media accounts and therefore, got ample time to do things which I always aspired to do but could not find time to do them. First and foremost, I spent enough time to finalize the design of my Blog and turning it into a website. Later, I spent over 1 hour talking to my friend on call which brought a lot of peace in my mind and heart.
Interestingly, I took a nap for almost 4 hours which never happened from a very long time. I also read 2 chapters of "The Power of Your Subconscious Mind" by Dr. Joseph Murphy, which I normally used to read only in my commute time.
To put it in a nutshell, the day was quite peaceful and I am feeling glad that I took this decision. I am looking forward to experience a lot more with it, in the upcoming days.
Thank you for reading,

(P.S. I am keeping Blogger as an exception in not using social media for this is my passion and I cannot spend a day without writing.)
